Tequila Marinated Beef Steaks

2 tbsp olive oil

3 tbsp tequila

3 tbsp freshly squeezed orange juice

1 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice

3 garlic cloves, crushed

2 tsp chili powder

1 tsp dired oregano

salt & pepper

4 sirloin steaks

Place the oil, tequila, orange and lime juices, garlic, chili powder, cumin, oregano, and salt and pepper to taste, in a large, shallow, non metallic dish and mix together.  Add the steaks and turn to coat in the marinade.  Cover and let chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight, turning occasionally.

Preheat the barbecue and oil the grill rack.  Let the steaks return to room temperature, then remove from the marinade.  Cook over hot coals for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium, or longer according to taste, basting frequently with the marinade.  Serve at once.
