Community support and sponsorship
Macklem Mortgages in the Community…
We are proud to be members of the Lower Mainland community. This is why Macklem Mortgages supports and sponsors a variety of community initiatives, such as:
- Children’s Miracle Network
- Children’s Hospital
- WALK for ALS
- The Ride to Conquer Cancer
- Local hockey and golf tournaments
- Dominion Lending Centre’s Bikes for Kids and Anti-bullying campaigns
RE/MAX Macklem Cup Hockey Tournament
We are proud to sponsor the RE/MAX Macklem Cup Hockey Tournament every winter. This tournament raised $4,000 for the B.C. Children’s Hospital in 2017. In addition to raising money for a great cause, this is always a very fun 3-day event! We enjoy playing some hockey and celebrating another successful year with our local realtor partners from Western Canada.
Bikes for Kids
Hundreds of bikes were donated to underprivileged kids in the Lower Mainland at an event in December.
Dominion Lending Centre offices across the province made donations, and the Dominion Macklem Mortgages team was very proud to donate 79 bikes to such a fantastic cause!
BC Lions - Courage for Kids
The Courage for Kids Ticket Program sends thousands of children to a BC Lions home game who could not otherwise have the opportunity to do so. Through the generous support of corporate donors, tickets are subsidized and distributed to member agencies of United Way of the Lower Mainland. The BC Lions play their home games at BC Place Stadium in Downtown Vancouver, as part of the Canadian Football League (CFL).
Burns Bog Conservation Society
The Burns Bog Conservation Society practices education to protect the world's peatlands by informing people on the importance of Burns Bog, the largest domed peat bog on the west coast of North America and largest undeveloped urban area in the world. It is globally unique for its ecosystem due to its chemistry, form, flora, fauna, and size, which covers an area of about 40 square kilometres.

WALK for ALS
Every Spring, we sponsor WALK for ALS in Kamloops. This is a great opportunity for me to support my cousin (“Team Dunbar”) who recently lost her husband to ALS, and to raise money that will help find a cure.
The Ride to Conquer Cancer
It is our privilege to be a sponsor of this annual event that raises money for the B.C. Cancer Foundation. The Ride to Conquer Cancer is a two-day event that spans from the Cloverdale fair grounds to Seattle with an overnight stay in Mt. Vernon. The total distance biked by each participant is 225 km.
Specifically, we support a team called “Riders for Ryders”, which has raised over $2.8M since 2009. One of our friends and clients is a member of that team.
